There is a spiritual war going on and, as believers, we must deploy our faith in the midst of this spiritual battle. Faith requires patience, or being consistently the same, even in the midst of trouble. Our faith is challenged in times when it appears that the promises of God are not coming to pass. It is in these times that our ongoing belief and understanding the finished works available through God’s grace help us stand on His Word.
Jesus perfectly modeled grace during His earthly ministry so that people could see what love, compassion, and forgiveness look like. Letting Him, instead of the world, define gender roles liberates men and women while greatly enriching relationships. If we can understand just how much God values us and sees us in His plans, then we can live the life He wants for us and be the community that the world needs to see. In the garden of Eden, the enemy caused division between humanity and God. Jesus broke down the barriers between people so that we could all benefit by being one with Him. As believers, we can now live as equals, not as sinners living beneath our privileges.
